On Saturday night, September 10, there were two fatal accidents across Kern County.
According to Bakersfield Police Department the first accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Westside Parkway at Coffee Road. It appears that the driver of a silver Toyota SUV had been traveling eastbound on Westside Parkway in the direction of Coffee Road at a high rate of speed. It seems the driver then lost control, left the roadway and flipped several times. The unidentified driver who was the only occupant of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene.
At around the same time there was a second deadly crash which involved five cars on Panama Road just east of Cottonwood Road. In this incident the driver of one vehicle, who is suspected of being drunk, was hospitalized with serious injuries and one person was killed. Another three people were injured and a dog in one of the vehicles was also killed.
